Placer County Bookmobile Visits
1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 1:15 pm-2:15 pm
Coming twice a month to the Center. This will give you the opportunity to check out any book with an extended return time, no late fees, and if you have internet access reserve a book and have it held by the bookmobile for your pick up.

Medicare and YOU Workshop
Are you confused about your Medicare and/or new to Medicare? Just turning 65? Or a current member and need some further information? Learn how to navigate the Medicare system.

Cell Phone Training
(iPhone and Android Users Only)
Has your smart phone out smarted you? This free training class will teach you how to send/receive text messages, connect Bluetooth devices, and operate the basic functions of a smart phone, make your smartphone louder and easier to hear. And much more!!! Specifically designed for iPhone and Android phones. Class size is limited.

Rock Painting Workshop
Join the current rock painting craze and come paint some winter or Valentine's Day themed rocks. Paint pens, rocks, and sealant included.
Class size is limited to 20 people, NO EXCEPTIONS

AARP Safe Driver Class (Refresher)
Specifically designed for drivers 50 years and older. This course is for those that have taken the Initial course within the past 3 years and would like to do a renewal to remain current for insurance purposes. This class will provide a DMV Mature Driver Improvement Course Certificate which should qualify you for a car insurance discount. Class size is limited.

Stages of Dementia Workshop
Part I of 2 Day Series - This informative workshop outlines the seven stages of Dementia or Alzheimer’s. The information provided in this valuable session will help those who care for loved ones living with Dementia. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and will gain vital insight and information about various resources that are available.

Life as a Caregiver Workshop
Part II of 2 Day Series- Take an in-depth look at life as a caregiver. Discuss the importance of self-care and explore resources and support services available for those caring for loved ones living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Disaster Preparedness Workshop
Disasters can be frightening. While we can't stop them from happening, we can do our best to know what to do when we encounter one. The workshop will cover where to get accurate information during an emergency, steps you can take to prepare ahead of time including building your own emergency kit and emergency plan, what to do during an evacuation and what you can expect in an emergency shelter. The more prepared you are, the easier it will be to ensure that your needs are met during any type of disaster. Empower yourself and know what you can do!

AARP Safe Driver Class (Initial)
Specifically designed for drivers 50 years and older. This is a two class program of 4 hours each. This course will review defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws, rules of the road, how to compensate for age related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time, and more. You will receive a DMV Mature Driver Certificate which should qualify you for a car insurance discount. Class size is limited.
